Rains disrupted traffic in parts of city

Bengaluru,  : The heavy rains that have lashed Bengaluru over the past few days have caused widespread disruptions across the city. Several roads have been waterlogged, making commuting difficult, while fallen trees in various areas have further hampered traffic flow. Despite efforts by the BBMP and Bengaluru Traffic Police to restore normalcy, slow-moving traffic continued on several roads through Wednesday morning.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued multiple alerts on social media platform X, informing the public about ongoing traffic snarls and advising commuters on alternate routes.

At Naman Junction, a fallen tree has slowed traffic towards Kodichikkanahalli, while near Toll Gate and MC Circle, a similar situation has resulted in slow movement towards Cholarapalya.

Similarly, at Balekundri Junction, a fallen tree near Chandrika Hotel has led to temporary road closure. Traffic Police have urged commuters to use alternative routes in this area.

Due to road damage, slow traffic was also reported from Hagadur Junction towards Hagadur Village, and this situation is expected to persist throughout Wednesday.

Despite the ongoing cleanup and clearance operations, several roads across the city remain affected by potholes, fallen trees, and residual waterlogging, leading to either disruptions or significantly slowed traffic.

These rain-induced challenges come on top of other civic issues, prompting authorities to consider long-term planning and preventive measures. The public has been advised to stay updated via traffic advisories and plan their travel accordingly.
