QR code scanning successfully implemented for CET Exams: H. Prasanna
The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has successfully implemented QR code scanning to verify candidates’ identities during the ongoing Common Entrance Test (CET). H. Prasanna, Executive Director of KEA, visited the Government PU College Center in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, on April 17 to personally inspect the new system.
The newly introduced QR code-based facial recognition system was used for the first time in the CET exams this year. Prasanna scanned QR codes and matched students’ photographs to verify their identities, ensuring the authenticity of candidates before they entered the exam center. He expressed satisfaction with the system’s smooth operation, noting that the identity verification process had been efficiently handled through this technology.
This initiative is part of the KEA’s efforts to streamline the examination process and prevent impersonation or fraudulent activities. The authority’s officials, including Islavuddin Gadyal, also attended the inspection.
The QR code system is expected to increase the security and integrity of the CET exams. The use of this technology marks a significant step forward in modernizing the admission process for the state’s educational system.
The implementation of QR code scanning is part of KEA’s broader initiative to enhance transparency and security in the examination process. By adopting this technology, the authority aims to ensure a fairer and more reliable system for students and educational institutions, providing a higher level of trust in the CET results.
