Preparations are in full swing for the grand celebration of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti in Ramanagara on June 27, with Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Chandrayya directing officials to ensure the event is conducted with dignity and scale befitting the legacy of Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru.

Chairing a preparatory meeting at the District Collector’s office on Monday, Chandrayya emphasized the significance of the event, calling it a moment of pride for the district. He urged all departments to work in coordination for a meaningful and impressive celebration.

The main event will be held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in Ramanagara city. Departments have been assigned responsibilities for stage setup, seating arrangements, banners, decorations, floral displays, water supply, cleanliness, and provision of both breakfast and lunch for attendees.

The Department of Kannada and Culture, through its Assistant Director, has been tasked with designing, printing, and distributing invitation cards as per official protocol. The Kempegowda Committee and various local organizations will arrange a silver chariot for the traditional procession.

To enrich the cultural vibrancy of the event, Chandrayya instructed the Kannada and Culture Department to organize folk troupes. If additional performers are required, a request will be sent to the department’s central office in Bengaluru.

With these plans underway, Ramanagara is set to celebrate Kempegowda Jayanti with grandeur and cultural splendour, honouring the visionary who laid the foundations of Karnataka’s capital city.
