Power cuts hit over 70 areas in Bengaluru

Emergency Maintenance Work to Disrupt Routine Activities Across Several Bengaluru Zones

Bengaluru is set to face widespread power outages across more than 70 localities on July 22 and 23 due to emergency maintenance work by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has issued a public notice alerting residents of planned disruptions between morning and afternoon on both days.

On Tuesday, July 22, power will be suspended from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in areas served by the 66/11 kV Vidya Substation. Affected neighborhoods include Ramayya Layout, Soap Factory Layout, Vinayaka Nagar, Vikas Nagar, Shobha Apartments, Havanur Extension, Narayana Layout, Vidya School, Kuvempu Nagar, Reliance Fresh, Munikondappa Layout, Ashok Nagar, Defense Colony, Manjunath Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Siddeshwara Layout, and parts of Sooladevanahalli and Tarabanahalli Main Road.

On Wednesday, July 23, power outages are scheduled from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM in the 66/11 kV Sahakarnagar Substation region. Localities affected include A, B, C, D, E, F, and G Blocks, Talacauvery Layout, Amruthahalli, BGS Layout, Shabari Nagar, Jakkur Plantation, Navya Nagar, Yashada Nagar, Sampigehalli, Agrahara Village, Jaysurya Layout, Telecom Layout, MCCHS Layout, Suryaudaya Nagar, and Arakavati Layout. BESCOM has advised citizens to plan their activities accordingly and expressed regret for the inconvenience. Officials stated the maintenance is necessary to ensure reliable power supply and infrastructure safety in the future. Residents have been urged to stay updated via BESCOM’s official channels for further announcements.
