Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of being anti-poor and anti-middle class. Speaking at a protest held at Freedom Park against the rising prices of essential commodities, the CM blamed the BJP-led central government for increasing the cost of gas, petrol, diesel, fertilizers, medicines, wheat, and millet.

“Modi has removed the gas subsidy and increased prices on all fronts. He has become an enemy of the poor,” the CM alleged. He questioned the moral ground on which the BJP criticizes the Congress government. “We have raised the milk price by ₹4 and ensured that the entire amount goes directly to the farmers. The government doesn't take a rupee,” he added.

Siddaramaiah also condemned the charge sheet filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, calling it politically motivated. He targeted the RSS, stating, “RSS did not participate in the freedom movement. They don’t understand the value of India’s independence.”

Calling for a mass movement, he urged Congress workers to be ready for a "second freedom struggle" to counter what he called the RSS’s betrayal of the nation.

He further added, “Politics is not just about power. It's about standing up for the people with ideological clarity.”

Mocking BJP’s economic claims, he said, “If our government was bankrupt, how could we allocate ₹56,000 crore annually for our guarantee schemes?”
