No Building Map Around Defence Areas Agreed

The objection letter of the Defence Department has made it mandatory for any kind of building construction and reconstruction, including housing, in the areas around the defence areas in the city, which has put the citizens in trouble.
Hebbala, RT Nagar, Agara, Halasur, Banasawadi, Domlur, Yelahanka Air Base, Jalahalli, Yelahanka are the areas belonging to the Defence Department. BBMP is not giving permission for new construction map in the area restricted by the edge of these areas.
Many areas including Yelahanka and Jalahalli have been constructed with permission from Gram Panchayat even before joining BBMP. Residential, commercial buildings including residential complexes have been given maps even after coming under BBMP. Occupancy certificate (OC) has been issued. However, the map is not giving permission for building construction in the plots in the same area. Although there is a building next to it, it seems that the plotters have not constructed it.
The District Collector has instructed BDA, BBMP, BMRDA, Zilla Panchayat, BIAPA, BMIC APA, Tehsildar of Nagar district, Chikkabanavara, Hunasemaranahalli Municipality and Taluk Panchayats
to obtain an objection letter from the Defence Department before carrying out development work in the buffer zone of protected areas.
'Bangalore Municipal Corporation's Building By-laws- 2003 and Revised Master Plan- 2015 have not made any kind of amendments in the zoning regulations. Thus,
there are no rules to follow the instructions of the District Collector. A letter has been written to give clear and detailed guidelines about it. So far, no information has been received,' said BBMP city planning officials.
