New Revelations Shock Karnataka Govt Over RCB Stampede Tragedy

Mismanagement, conflicting orders under scrutiny near Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has been jolted by shocking new details emerging from the investigation into the deadly stampede that occurred during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) victory celebrations. Eleven lives were lost in the chaos, and early police findings now point to grave mismanagement near Vidhana Soudha as a major contributing factor.

Sources reveal that misleading public announcements were made by a local MLA and event hosts near Vidhana Soudha, informing the crowd that only a brief felicitation would take place there and the main event would happen at Chinnaswamy Stadium. This triggered a sudden surge of people moving toward the stadium, leading to overcrowding and panic.

In a troubling twist, a senior IPS officer reportedly instructed the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to keep the stadium gates closed until the Vidhana Soudha event ended — allegedly to impress the Chief Minister. As a result, only 3 of the stadium’s 21 gates were open, creating a dangerous bottleneck that escalated into a stampede.

Adding to the outrage, while VIPs near Vidhana Soudha were given heavy police protection, early reports suggest that the stadium area lacked adequate security and crowd control measures. These revelations have intensified public and political scrutiny, with growing demands for accountability from top officials involved in planning the event.
