Transport Minister Ramalingareddy has stressed the importance of discipline among bus drivers to prevent accidents caused by reckless or inattentive driving. Speaking during the distribution of appointment orders to BMTC employees, he stated, “The number of government bus accidents has increased recently. We need to control this. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against drivers involved in negligence or accidents.”
He further clarified, “Not all accidents are due to driver negligence—sometimes other vehicles cause collisions, which are beyond the driver’s control. However, when accidents are caused due to driver negligence, disciplinary measures must be implemented. Otherwise, such incidents will be dismissed as mere accidents, leading to a lax attitude among drivers.”
