‘Namma Transit’ launched for metro commuters
In a move aimed at enhancing urban transport integration, ‘Namma Yatri’ has introduced a new feature called Namma Transit, designed to simplify commuting for Bengaluru Metro passengers. The feature provides real-time updates and route planning, aiming to streamline daily travel for lakhs of citizens.
According to Namma Yatri representatives, Namma Transit offers live information on metro train timings, nearby stations, platform gates, and allows users to track their entire journey—including autos, cabs, and metros—on a single application. This marks a significant step toward building a unified public transport ecosystem for Bengaluru.
The new feature was developed in collaboration with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to address the growing demand for seamless last-mile connectivity. Currently available to select users, the feature is expected to be rolled out citywide in the coming months.
With the upcoming inauguration of metro corridors such as the Yellow Line, Blue Line, and the much-anticipated R.V. Road–Bommasandra section, authorities believe Namma Transit will encourage wider use of public transportation. The feature also calculates total travel time and allows passengers to plan trips with minimal hassle.
Developers claim that Namma Transit ensures efficiency, speed, and reliability, and positions Namma Yatri as the preferred transport partner in Bengaluru. By combining multiple modes of transport under one interface, the platform hopes to make city travel more convenient and stress-free. Public response is expected to be positive, especially from daily commuters seeking smoother intermodal connectivity across the city.
