Namma Metro tickets now available on five private apps
In a major digital boost for metro commuters, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that Namma Metro tickets can now be purchased via five private mobile applications, eliminating the need to wait in long queues at stations.
With this move, over 8 lakh daily metro users will now have more convenient options to book their tickets. This has been made possible as Namma Metro has joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, enabling seamless integration with private service providers.
Which apps offer Metro ticket booking? Commuters can now buy their metro tickets using the following five apps: Miles & Kilometres (M&K), Tummoc, RedBus, OutPath and Highway Delight.
In addition to offering easy ticketing, these platforms are also offering discounts of 20–30% on metro ticket bookings for a limited time.
Previously, tickets could only be booked via WhatsApp chatbot and Paytm. Now, BMRCL has expanded its services to newer platforms. Rapido and Namma Yatri are currently in the testing phase for ticketing integration.
The initiative has been welcomed by commuters, many of whom have expressed happiness at the added convenience. With millions using the metro daily, this move is expected to significantly ease crowding at ticket counters and promote cashless travel.
BMRCL officials say the aim is to make ticketing faster, more accessible, and part of a broader push toward digital urban mobility.
