Minister Shivraj Tangadagi visits hospitalised Prof. Doddarange Gowda
Senior Kannada writer and former MLC Prof. Doddarange Gowda, who is currently undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of Gleneagles BGS Hospital in Kengeri, Bengaluru, was visited by Kannada and Culture Minister Shivraj Tangadagi.
Minister Tangadagi inquired about the writer's health and obtained a detailed briefing from the hospital's medical team. Expressing deep concern for the ailing literary figure, the minister announced that the Karnataka government will bear the full cost of Prof. Doddarange Gowda’s medical treatment. He instructed the hospital staff to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the writer receives the best possible care.
The minister also met with members of the writer’s family, offering them words of encouragement and support during this difficult time. Speaking to the media, Tangadagi said that Prof. Doddarange Gowda is a cultural treasure of Karnataka, and the government is committed to supporting him in every way.
Prof. Doddarange Gowda is not only a renowned poet and writer, but also a celebrated lyricist in Kannada cinema. His songs have been featured in films starring icons like Dr. Rajkumar, Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, and Anant Nag. His contribution to Kannada literature and film music has left a lasting impact on Karnataka’s cultural landscape.
