The "District-Level Mango, Jackfruit, and Other Fruits Exhibition and Sale Mela-2025" was inaugurated today, June 13, in Devanahalli. The event, a collaborative effort by the Bengaluru Rural District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Horticulture Department, and Agriculture Department, was formally opened by K.H. Muniyappa, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and District In-charge Minister.

Speaking after the inauguration, Minister Muniyappa stated that the Mela was organized to provide fair prices for mango, jackfruit, and other fruit growers in the district. It also aims to encourage farmers and ensure that consumers have access to high-quality, naturally ripened fruits. He highlighted that various varieties of mango, jackfruit, and other fruits are available for sale at discounted prices set by the government.

The Mela is being held in front of Hotel Nandi Upachara (on the Nandi Hills road, Rani Cross) in Devanahalli taluk and will continue for two days, from June 13 to June 15. This event offers a unique opportunity for the public to purchase high-quality, fresh fruits of various varieties from a single platform.

In addition to the fruit exhibition, a 'Plant Haat' program has been arranged. This section features a display and sale of various grafted fruit saplings, seedlings, and ornamental plants from all horticultural centers and nurseries in the district, all at prices determined by the department.

The Mela showcases a wide array of fruits including different varieties of mango such as Totapuri, Sendura, Banganapalli, Badami, Rasapuri, Mallika, Kesar, Dasheri, Kulpand, Himapasand, Malgova, and Sakkaregutthi. Also available are Red Dragon Fruits, Guava (Taiwan, Allahabad varieties), and packaged Jackfruit.
