Bengaluru: The investigation into the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede incident is being intensified under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Jagadish G. The district authorities have visited the scene of the tragedy to gather information and have issued notices to those injured in the incident.

During the RCB Vijayotsava celebration held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, a stampede resulted in the deaths of 11 people, with 45 others sustaining injuries. The government had ordered a magistrate-led investigation into the incident, with a deadline of 15 days to submit a report. As part of the process, notices have been issued to the injured, summoning them to appear and give statements. They are instructed to appear between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the district collector’s court to record their testimonies.

Following the statements from the injured, the families of the deceased and eyewitnesses are also being contacted to provide their accounts. Additionally, district officials have written to the police commissioner to gather information from the police personnel deployed at the site on the day of the incident. The police statements are being collected, and efforts are underway to ensure that the investigation report is submitted within the stipulated timeline.
