Husband arrested in Bengaluru billionaire Tanushree murder case
A major twist has emerged in the murder case of Tanushree, a billionaire transgender activist, whose body was found in a decomposed state at her home in K.R. Puram, Bengaluru.
Police have arrested her husband, Jagadish, who confessed to killing her after being allegedly forced into marriage. According to the police, Tanushree, who had earned immense wealth through social service, wanted to project herself as a married woman and had coerced Jagadish into marriage.
Upset over the pressure, Jagadish, along with his friends Prabhakar and Sushant, allegedly plotted her murder. On the night of April 17, Jagadish visited Tanushree’s residence as usual. When she insisted on marriage again, he fatally stabbed her with a knife. After ensuring her death, he locked the house and fled to Tirupati.
Neighbors noticed a foul smell after three days and alerted the police, who discovered Tanushree’s blood-soaked, decomposed body in the living room.
The police investigation revealed that Tanushree and Jagadish shared a friendship, traveling together for social work. However, Jagadish grew frustrated with Tanushree’s persistent demands for marriage.
Unable to commit the crime alone, he enlisted two friends for assistance. Following eight days of investigation, the K.R. Puram police arrested Jagadish and his two accomplices. All three have been produced in court. The police stated that Jagadish’s phone was switched off after the incident, complicating the search. This tragic case has sent shockwaves through Bengaluru’s social circles.
