Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced that the Hebbal flyover junction, Shivananda Circle Junction, and the multi-level parking complex near Gandhi Bazaar are all set to be inaugurated by August 15. He also emphasized the urgent completion of the KR Puram–Hebbal flyover work to ease traffic congestion and benefit the public. Speaking to the media, Shivakumar revealed that Bengaluru currently has 24 lakh ‘A’ and ‘B’ Khata properties, and 6.5 lakh e-Khatas have already been issued. To avoid future complications, a mass awareness campaign will be conducted from October 22 to November 1, encouraging citizens to verify and update their property records online.

He stated that teachers, BESCOM bill collectors, and BBMP staff will be mobilized for door-to-door outreach. Though volunteers and party workers can support the campaign, they will not be given official responsibilities. From August 15, the government will also release guidelines for converting B Khata to A Khata, detailing eligibility and application procedures.

Responding to opposition criticism, Shivakumar noted that BJP leaders in the Legislative Council had supported the Greater Bengaluru Authority Bill, even if they later walked out. He also addressed BJP leader Vijayendra’s remarks about frequent visits to Delhi, clarifying they are attending a Constitutional Protection event on August 2. On political matters, he shared that discussions are underway for Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Karnataka, and assured support for actress Ramya, who recently faced online abuse, stating the Congress stands with those supported by its leaders.
