Four arrested for robbery and cheating, gold and silver worth Rs 22 lakh seized
The Halasuru Gate police have arrested four individuals in connection with separate cases of cheating, robbery, and theft, recovering a significant amount of gold and silver valued at Rs 22 lakh.
One of the accused, a thief, was apprehended for stealing 4 kg 147 grams of silver articles from a two-wheeler after returning from a hallmarking test in Cholagalli, Nagarathpet.
The stolen items, including gold ornaments, were seized from him. In another case, a worker was arrested for allegedly robbing gold bars entrusted to him by the owner of a jewellery shop.
The accused was located and arrested in Bardhaman district, West Bengal, where 30 grams of gold bars and jewellery were recovered. A notice has been issued to an accomplice who assisted him in the crime.
Additionally, the police arrested another man in Bardhaman for duping a customer who had given him gold bars to be made into ornaments. A total of 158 grams of gold bars and jewellery were seized from the accused.
In yet another incident, a thief snatched a bag containing 20.78 grams of gold chain and 7.62 grams of gold from a man who had come to Nagarathpet for repairs. The police tracked down the accused near Nagarathpet Circle, recovering 24 grams of gold he had sold to a friend in Doddaballapura. The Halasuru Gate police have seized a total of 212 grams of gold jewellery and 4 kg of silver articles in these four cases.
