In a shocking twist to a murder case in Kadugodi, city police have arrested four individuals, including the man who allegedly killed a rowdy-sheeter in self-defense after being attacked with a lethal weapon.

The incident took place on the night of June 10 in Vijayalakshmi Layout of Kadugodi, where 25-year-old rowdy-sheeter Puneeth was hacked to death with sharp weapons. Kadugodi police have arrested Mahesh, Srikanth, Rajesh, and Sumanth in connection with the crime.

Puneeth, who had a criminal record, had allegedly purchased a bike from Mahesh for ₹40,000. However, as days passed, he failed to pay the agreed amount and reportedly began threatening Mahesh. Matters escalated when Puneeth told Mahesh that if he didn’t pay the money, he would abduct his daughter. This pushed Mahesh to the edge.

In an effort to resolve the dispute, Mahesh sought help from his friend Srikanth, who was known to Puneeth, to mediate a compromise. But Puneeth allegedly rejected the offer and instead threatened to kill both Mahesh and Srikanth.

On the night of the murder, Puneeth arrived at Mahesh’s residence with an associate named Arbaaz around 9:30 PM. According to police, Puneeth launched an attack with a lethal weapon. Mahesh, in an act of self-defense, reportedly snatched the weapon from Puneeth and retaliated with a severe assault.

As the scuffle intensified, Arbaaz fled the scene while Puneeth was overpowered and brutally assaulted with weapons by Mahesh and his friends. The injuries proved fatal.
