Every Hobali would get 100 bedded hospital; Dinesh Gundu Rao
The state government is committed to providing quality healthcare services in suburban and rural areas. A plan has been devised to construct a 100-bed hospital in each taluk where the population is dense, announced Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.
He spoke during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 100-bed district-level hospital at Domasandra in the taluk, which took place on Monday.
Despite being part of Bangalore’s outskirts, Anekal taluk is experiencing rapid development and a growing population. Minister Rao emphasized that even building two hospitals would be insufficient. He stated, “For a population of 2 lakh, a hospital with 100 beds is necessary. But here, the population exceeds 7 lakh. Therefore, a 100-bed hospital will be constructed in each taluk.”
Due to increasing population in the suburban taluks of Bangalore, the Chief Minister’s office was approached to build district-level hospitals. In this context, the foundation stone for the well-equipped hospital at Domasandra has been laid.
To improve healthcare services in the outskirts of Bangalore, a plan has been formulated to establish a new government hospital with 100 beds in Nellikunja in June. Additionally, a detailed action plan has been prepared for the construction of well-equipped hospitals in Nelamangala, Nellikunja, Anekal, and Bangalore North taluks.
Efforts are also underway to ensure that medicines are adequately available in all government hospitals. All government hospitals in the state now have two gynecologists and pediatric specialists, ensuring 24-hour services for women and children.
The state has a total of 40,000 ASHA workers, among whom 15,000 were receiving low wages. Their salaries have been increased by ₹1,000 each.
