ED conducts raids in multi-crore Bovi corporation scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at nine locations in connection with the multi-crore Bovi Corporation scam. ED officials, including those from Bengaluru and Shivamogga, are actively involved in the raids and searches.

The ED conducted raids at the Bovi Corporation's office and the residences of its Managing Director (MD) and General Manager (GM) in connection with alleged irregularities amounting to Rs 160 crore.

The corporation has been accused of financial misconduct, including creating fake beneficiaries to siphon off funds through various schemes, such as the Ganga Kalyana Yojana.

The raid operations extended to the Soundarya Gardenia Apartments in Jalahalli, associated with former MD R Leelavathi. Additionally, Purvankar Apartments on Magadi Road, linked to Nagaraj, the former general manager of the corporation, were also searched.

In a related move, the residence of P D Subbappa, the superintendent of Bovi Corporation located in Saraswathinagar, was raided as well. The scam has drawn significant attention due to the alleged misuse of public funds and the involvement of high-ranking officials. In a related tragic development, a lawyer connected to the case reportedly committed suicide. The ED's ongoing investigation aims to unravel the complex network of corruption and bring the perpetrators to justice.
