In a major crackdown on corruption, the Karnataka Lokayukta conducted surprise raids across various districts early Thursday morning. The raids targeted officials accused of possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. Homes and offices of at least ten government officers were searched, including those in urban and rural areas. In Bengaluru, Lokayukta officials raided the residences and offices of T.V. Murali and H.R. Nataraj. Raids were also carried out on the properties of Ananth Kumar, who serves in a rural department. Documents and other evidence were thoroughly examined during the operation.

In Tumakuru, a significant raid was conducted at the residence of Rajshekhar, MD of Nirmiti Kendra. Additionally, his brother’s house located in SS Puram, Saptagiri area, was also searched. The focus remained on tracing unaccounted assets and hidden wealth. In Kalaburagi, Shahapur Tehsildar Umakanth Halle’s home and office were raided. His properties in Akkamahadevi area came under scrutiny as officials reviewed financial documents and property records.

Lokayukta officials stated that the raids were part of a broader investigation targeting corrupt practices within the state administration. These operations are expected to continue as authorities dig deeper into the assets and income details of the accused. The simultaneous raids have sent shockwaves through the bureaucracy, reinforcing Lokayukta’s active stance against corruption in Karnataka.
