During the second quarterly meeting of the District Development Committee held at the District Panchayat office, MP Dr. K. Sudhakar emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about various government welfare schemes.

He particularly urged citizens to utilize the Ayushman Bharat card, which provides free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh, ensuring that every citizen benefits from this healthcare initiative. Dr. Sudhakar also stressed the importance of expanding registrations for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), which protects farmers against crop loss. He noted that while 4,885 farmers registered for crop insurance last year, more awareness is needed to encourage farmers to safeguard their livelihoods.

Other key topics discussed included the availability of affordable rice at ₹29 per kg through the Public Distribution System and the need to ensure gas connections for 3,098 households under the Ujjwala Yojana. Dr. Sudhakar also urged officials to promote the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme to ensure migrant workers receive their rations in any state. Additionally, he called for improvement in school education, with officers ensuring that students benefit from quality meals and educational services.

He further highlighted the need for proper waste management in rural areas and urged the district’s healthcare providers to conduct workshops on maternal and child care. The meeting saw participation from local leaders, including MLA Dheeraj Muniraju, and district officials such as the District Commissioner Dr. N. Shivashankar.
