Deputy CM Shivakumar reviews urban development progress in Bengaluru

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar held a comprehensive progress review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bengaluru city yesterday. The meeting focused on the ongoing urban development projects and reviewed the performance of key departments involved in city infrastructure and governance.

Deputy Commissioner Jagadish, BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, and senior officials including B. Sudhakar were present during the review. The Deputy CM emphasized the importance of efficient execution of developmental projects and timely delivery of civic services to improve the quality of life for Bengaluru residents. Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Chairman Ram Prasath Manohar also participated in the meeting, along with Deputy CM’s Secretary Rajendra Cholan and several other departmental heads.

Discussions were held on key infrastructure issues such as roadworks, drainage systems, solid waste management, and water supply. The Deputy CM instructed officials to speed up work on delayed projects and ensure transparency and accountability at all levels.

He also stressed on the need for better coordination between departments to avoid overlapping responsibilities and delays. Shivakumar reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming

Bengaluru into a well-planned and sustainable city under the “Brand Bengaluru” initiative. Officials were directed to submit regular progress reports and address public grievances with urgency. The meeting concluded with a roadmap being drawn for the next quarter of development activities.
