DCM assures permanent drinking water for Ramanagara district
DCM D.K. Shivakumar assured that the permanent drinking water supply project (Cauvery Drinking Water Project) for Ramanagara, Kanakapura, Channapatna, and Magadi taluks of Bengaluru South district will be completed by December this year.

He said that 3.30 TMC of water is being released at a very low cost.
He inquired with the officials and engineers of the Hyderabad-based Mega Engineering Company, which is carrying out the project work, about why the work is being delayed and if there are any obstacles. To the media's question about whether farmers' land will be acquired, he said that farmers' land is being acquired as needed. Instructions have been given to the Mandya District Collector to provide good compensation to the farmers who have given land for the project and cooperated. This project will prevent the hardship of drinking water for the people of the district, including increasing groundwater level," he said.
