“Government work is God’s work, and it is our duty to make that saying meaningful,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the inauguration of the newly installed permanent lighting system at Vidhana Soudha.

Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that the people of Karnataka have elected representatives not for power, but to ensure justice and peace reach the last person in the state. He stated that Vidhana Soudha, like the Parliament, is a temple of democracy where public issues must be debated and resolved.

“Even after 75 years of independence and the adoption of our Constitution, we have not been able to eradicate inequality. We must work from within institutions like Vidhana Soudha, Suvarna Soudha, and Vikasa Soudha to build an equitable society,” he urged. The Chief Minister called upon legislators and administrators to commit themselves to the foundational purpose of Vidhana Soudha—to serve the people with sincerity and resolve their issues. He stressed that true governance will be achieved only when justice and development reach every citizen, and that economic empowerment of the people must be a shared goal.

On this occasion, CM Siddaramaiah also appreciated Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader for his efforts in implementing the permanent illumination project at Vidhana Soudha. Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, Ministers K.J. George, H.K. Patil, and top government officials were present during the ceremony.
