CM Launches Development Projects worth ₹1,146 Crore
Maddur
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹1,146 crore in Maddur Assembly Constituency, calling it a direct rebuttal to those who allege the government lacks funds for development.
Speaking at the event, he praised the people of Mandya as “kind-hearted and grateful” and highlighted several key initiatives, including ₹560 crore worth of projects undertaken by the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam in the last two years. He also cited a ₹52 crore package to revive the Mandya sugar factory, settlement of its pending electricity dues, and a ₹5 per litre subsidy granted to milk producers. An additional ₹10 crore has recently been sanctioned for the sugar factory, he added.
The CM credited the Congress government's five guarantee schemes for boosting the state’s economy and increasing purchasing power, claiming Karnataka now leads the country in per capita income.
Siddaramaiah also announced the approval of a 100-foot-wide road in Maddur city, applauding MLA Uday for his commitment, saying, “He speaks less and works more.”
On the issue of fertilizer shortage, the CM criticised the central government for failing to supply Karnataka’s due share. “Despite writing to the Centre, there has been no response for over a week,” he said, urging Karnataka MPs and Union Ministers to take up the issue.
Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, District In-charge Minister Cheluvarayaswamy, and several cabinet ministers and MLAs attended the event. MLA Uday presided over the programme.
