"Citizens must participate in every Gram Sabha (village assembly) and submit their grievances. They should also learn about the benefits available from the government," said Munivenkatamma Bachappa, President of Nandagudi Gram Panchayat.

She was speaking after inaugurating the 2025-26 Gram Sabha, recently held at the Ambedkar Community Hall in Nandagudi village, Hoskote taluk.

Munivenkatamma Bachappa stated that people in rural areas face various challenges, including a lack of basic amenities. She urged them to offer suggestions for rural development and to submit their grievances to find solutions.

Gram Panchayat PDO (Panchayat Development Officer) Kempanna advised beneficiaries to gather information about the benefits available from various departments and avail themselves of these schemes.

Agriculture Department Nodal Officer Mohan Kumar also addressed the gathering.

Officials from different departments provided information about the benefits available within their respective departmental jurisdictions. Villagers discussed their suggestions, grievances, and problems with the officials present at the Gram Sabha.

Among those present were Gram Panchayat Vice President Majar Unnisa, SFCS Director Dharmesh, Health Officer Dr. Bhaskar Reddy, Veterinary Department's Chandrashekar, Women and Child Welfare Department's Sandhya, Horticulture Department's Pavitra, BCM Manager Bairareddy, Deputy Principal Shubha, Gram Panchayat members Veeraraj, N.N. Manjunath, Sunitha Ramegowda, Jayaramayya, Narayanaswamy, Ayoob Beg, Anuradha Nataraj, Shanthamma Hanumantappa, Secretary Venkatesh, Accountant Sampath Kumar, and Tax Collector Manoj.

Siddaraju, Assistant Director of the Social Welfare Department, stated that for the academic year 2025-26, the Social Welfare Department is providing scholarships to SC/ST students who passed SSLC with a first class (₹75,000), those who passed with higher grades (₹15,000), PUC (₹20,000), Degree (₹25,000), MBBS students (₹50 lakh), and those pursuing studies abroad (₹2 crore). He urged students to take full advantage of these opportunities.
