Chikkaballapur to celebrate birth anniversaries of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Chikkaballapur Deputy Commissioner P.N. Ravindra announced that the district administration will commemorate the 118th birth anniversary of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram on April 5 and the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on April 14 with grandeur and significance at the District Administration Auditorium. Chairing a preparatory meeting at the District Commissioner’s conference hall, he stated that Dr. Jagjivan Ram’s anniversary will be observed symbolically at Ambedkar Bhavan in Chikkaballapur, while Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary will be marked with a grand district-level event. The celebration on April 14 will feature a procession from Jai Bhim Memorial Hostel through key city roads, with tableaux, palanquins, and cultural teams before culminating at the District Administration Building. Government offices will be illuminated, and the anniversary will be observed in schools and colleges. A blood donation camp will also be organized at Ambedkar Bhavan. The program will include speeches on the ideologies of Dr. Jagjivan Ram and Dr. Ambedkar, along with felicitation of SSLC and PU students who have secured top ranks. Committees have been formed for organizing various aspects, including stage setup, hospitality, food, sanitation, and publicity. Officials, public representatives, and citizens have been invited to participate. The meeting was attended by Zilla Panchayat CEO Prakash G.T. Nittali, SP Kushal Chouksey, Additional DC Dr. N. Bhaskar, ZP Deputy Secretary Athiq Pasha, and other officials.
