Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath visited several homes on Saturday as part of a super-checking process related to the revision of electoral rolls in Bengaluru. This routine revision is carried out annually, following the directions of the Election Commission of India. Today, officials conducted door-to-door checks to ensure the accuracy and cleanliness of the voters’ list. The draft electoral rolls for 28 Assembly constituencies in Bengaluru were published on October 27, 2024. In compliance with the Election Commission’s directives, residents were given the opportunity to file claims and objections regarding omissions, errors, and the incorrect inclusion or removal of names in the voters’ list. These claims could be filed using Form-6, 7, and 8 from October 29 to November 28, 2024. As part of the process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and their supervisors are going door-to-door to verify and refine the list. Chief Commissioner Girinath visited various homes across four Assembly constituencies: Byatarayanapura, Hebbal, Vijayanagar, and Govindarajanagar. He inspected forms in areas such as Venkateswarapura and Suryodaya Layout in Byatarayanapura and Sabari Nagar in Thanisandra, ensuring that corrections were made where necessary. In Hebbal, he reviewed newly added voter details, while in Vijayanagar, he confirmed the addition of names in Dwarka Nagar. During his visit to Govindarajanagar, Girinath instructed officials to remove deceased voters’ names from the list after verifying family records. Assistant Commissioner of Election Sharanappa and other officials were present during the checks.
