CCB police flesh trade eight arrested
In a significant crackdown on prostitution rackets in the city, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested eight individuals who were allegedly involved in running prostitution networks.
The arrests came as part of a special operation aimed at dismantling prostitution rings operating across Bengaluru.
According to police reports, the accused had been luring young girls into prostitution under the pretence of offering them opportunities in modelling, serial acting, and jobs in high-end restaurants.
The CCB police revealed that the accused had been actively targeting women arriving in Bengaluru from distant places in search of work, exploiting their vulnerability.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Wasim, Manohar Seena, Lokesh Gowda, Lokesh, Vijay, Prasad, and Suresh. They are accused of forcing the girls to perform in ladies' bars and were operating from various parts of the city, including g Nagarabhavi, Madiwala, and Bommanahalli.
During the operation, the police rescued eight girls, including a minor. Among the rescued victims were two girls from Mandya and Mysuru, as well as others from Punjab, Delhi, Kolkata, and neighboring states.
The police are currently interrogating the suspects, and more arrests are likely as the investigation continues. Authorities have expressed concern over the increasing exploitation of girls who come to the city looking for employment.
They have urged women to be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true, especially those promising quick success in the entertainment industry.
