Ramanagara district police has formed four teams to arrest right-wing activist Punit Kerehalli, who is accused of murdering Idrees Pasha (39), an assistant driver of a cattle transport vehicle, in Kanakapura's Satanur police station area early on Saturday morning. Talking to reporters about this, Inspector General of Police (IGP) BR Ravikante Gowda, the accused have not been arrested yet. A team of doctors from the forensic medicine department has conducted the post-mortem examination and are awaiting the report to know the exact cause of (Pasha's) death. The exact cause of death will be known from the postmortem report, he said. While one team has been formed under the leadership of the inspector of Satanur police station, another team has been headed by the DYSP of the sub-division. Another team has been formed under the leadership of the sub-divisional police. A case of murder was registered against Kerehalli and four others after Pasha's body was found a short distance from the Satanur police station.
Kerehalli, who demanded Rs 2 lakh from Idris Pasha, this incident took place early on Saturday morning. Idrees Pasha along with Irfan (37) and driver Syed Zaheer (40) were transporting 15 cattle near Santhemala Circle around 12:30 midnight on Saturday when Kerehalli and his accomplices intercepted the vehicle. It is said that realizing the danger, Pasha and Irpan fled from there and attacked Zaheer. It is said that Kerehalli demanded Rs 2 lakh and threatened to kill him if he did not pay.
