Chikkaballapur: The highly anticipated Karnataka Cabinet meeting, initially scheduled to take place at the historic Nandi Hills on June 19, has been relocated to the Cabinet meeting hall in Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru.
The district administration had made extensive preparations for the meeting at Nandi Hills. These preparations included applying fresh coats of paint to the buildings on the hill station and imposing restrictions on entry to both Nandi Hills itself and the Bhoganandeeshwara Temple in Nandi village.
Speculation about a potential postponement or relocation of the Nandi Hills Cabinet meeting had been circulating, with a report published in Prajavani on Monday confirming the possibility. This report had generated considerable discussion.
MLAs from Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts had reportedly urged the Chief Minister to make decisions regarding new grants and projects during the Cabinet meeting. However, it is understood that the Chief Minister had not provided any firm assurances on this matter. Furthermore, local MLAs had already submitted proposals to the government outlining projects for their constituencies, pressing for their implementation to be decided upon during the Cabinet session.
The official reason for the relocation was not immediately provided, but the shift back to the state capital suggests a change in logistical or strategic considerations for the high-level meeting.
