BMTC launches three new city routes
In a major boost to public transport connectivity, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced bus services on three new routes, enhancing access between suburban zones and key urban hubs, including Kempegowda International Airport.
One of the new routes, Route No. 293-AP, will run between Shivajinagar TTMC and the airport. Starting July 4, this air-conditioned metro feeder service will pass through Hennur, Kannur, Bagalur, and Begur. A total of four buses will operate on this route with multiple departure timings from both terminals, ensuring improved convenience for air travelers and daily commuters alike.
Another significant route, No. 515-B, begins July 5 and connects Kengeri TTMC to 8th Mile on Tumkur Road. This non-AC service includes key stops such as Gnanabharathi Metro Station, Mallathahalli Cross, Hero Halli Cross, and Andrahalli. With eight buses operating, commuters in the western parts of Bengaluru are expected to benefit from better connectivity.
Additionally, BMTC has launched Route No. 401-KC between Kengeri TTMC and Yeshwanthpur TTMC. The route covers key stops such as KHB Quarters, Nagarabhavi Circle, Vijayanagar, and West Cord Road. Five buses will ply on this stretch, catering to working professionals and students in the western corridor. BMTC officials said these routes are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to offer efficient, reliable, and affordable public transportation. The new services aim to reduce dependence on private vehicles and help decongest Bengaluru’s traffic-heavy roads while improving accessibility to city outskirts.
