BMTC bus driver sparks outrage for using phone while driving

Published on

A BMTC electric bus driver has faced public backlash after being caught on camera using a mobile phone while driving through Lalbagh Road during rush hour. The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), quickly went viral, drawing criticism from commuters and passengers. While the footage showed the driver scrolling through his phone in heavy traffic, its authenticity could not be independently verified by Times Now. Bengaluru Traffic Police responded by tagging Basavanagudi Traffic Police Station, urging a thorough investigation. The incident adds to a series of similar concerns about reckless driving by BMTC bus drivers. A similar event in 2024 saw a BMTC bus lose control on a Hebbal flyover, injuring two bikers and causing damage to several cars. Public concern continues to grow over passenger safety and road discipline.
