The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has fined a passenger who spat within the premises of the Doddakalasandra Metro Station on Kanakapura Road. The BMRCL has also urged passengers to prioritize cleanliness. Recently, a video of a passenger consuming pan masala inside a Namma Metro train had gone viral. Taking serious note of this, BMRCL had decided to fine passengers who consume tobacco-based products inside metro stations and trains. On May 2nd, around 6:30 PM, a passenger was spitting pan masala near the lift on Platform 01 of the Doddakalasandra Metro Station on the Green Line of Namma Metro. Metro officials identified the passenger and imposed a fine. Spitting and littering within metro premises not only harm the environment but also pose a risk to the health of other passengers. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is committed to providing a clean, healthy, and safe public transportation system. Strict action will be taken against those who violate cleanliness rules. BMRCL appealed in a statement on Sunday for all passengers to cooperate and immediately inform metro officials if such incidents occur. On April 26th, a woman traveling on the Green Line from Madavara station to Magadi Road station was eating during the journey. A fellow passenger recorded this and shared it on social media. When the same woman came to the Madavara Metro Station on the morning of April 28th, security personnel imposed a fine.
