Biocon foundation celebrates 20 years of social impact
Biocon Foundation marked two decades of social transformation with a special event at Biocon Park, celebrating ’20 Years of LIGHT – Leading Inclusive Growth of Communities with a Human Touch.’ Since 2004, the Foundation has impacted 2.8 million lives through initiatives in healthcare, education, rural development, and sustainability. The event featured Chief Guest Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, and Mission Director Dr. Anupama Shetty. The Foundation unveiled its 20th Annual Report and honored key contributors. Major initiatives include eLAJ Smart Clinics, serving 1 million+ patients; Arogya Raksha Yojana, benefiting 3.1 lakh patients; Oral Cancer Screening (mHealth), diagnosing 10,000+ cases annually; Biocon Nagar, providing homes for flood victims; lake rejuvenation projects; and funding Hebbagodi Metro Station. Mazumdar-Shaw reaffirmed Biocon’s commitment to equitable healthcare, while Dr. Shetty emphasized sustained community support. The Foundation continues to drive social change, empowering underserved communities.
