Bengaluru gears up for enhanced metro connectivity with Pink Line

Published on

Bengaluru’s much-anticipated Namma Metro Pink Line is steadily taking shape, with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) eyeing a phased rollout. Spanning a total distance of 21.25 kilometers, the Pink Line is being developed in two stages to connect Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) in the south to Nagawara in the north.

The first phase, covering 13.92 km with six underground and six elevated stations, is now slated to become operational by December 2025, offering partial relief to commuters.

The second phase is expected to follow by December 2026, completing the full stretch, according to a report by Magic Bricks. Construction between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere is progressing smoothly, with major stations like Tavarekere, Jayadeva Interchange, J.P. Nagar IV Phase, IIMB, Hulimavu, and Kalena Agrahara under active development.

Once completed, this corridor will significantly enhance east-west and north-south connectivity in Bengaluru. The Pink Line is poised to transform public transport in the city by connecting key landmarks such as IIM-Bangalore, Jayadeva Hospital, and the Rashtriya Military School.

With daily commutes expected to become more convenient, the metro expansion also aims to reduce road congestion and pollution levels by providing a dependable alternative to private transport. City residents, eagerly awaiting the new line, view it as a step toward more sustainable and efficient urban mobility. Authorities emphasize that infrastructure projects like these are essential for a growing metropolis like Bengaluru, where demand for seamless connectivity continues to rise.
