Several schools in Bengaluru, specifically in Kumbalagodu, Kalasipalya, and Rajarajeshwari Nagar, have received bomb threats via email. Local police have promptly arrived at the schools to conduct investigations. The threat messages demand justice in a rape case that occurred in Hyderabad, warning of bomb explosions if their demands are not met. Questions are now being raised about which specific Hyderabad rape case the perpetrators are referring to and its connection to Karnataka.

Similarly, on Sunday night, schools in Hassan, including Vidhyasoudha Public School and Vidhyasoudha Kids School, received bomb threats via email, threatening to detonate bombs and demolish the buildings at 1 PM on Monday. Following these threats, the school managements filed complaints with the police. Police and sniffer dog units have visited the schools and are conducting inspections.

Karnataka has seen a recent surge in hoax bomb threats. These false alarms have increased, particularly after the bomb blast at the Rameshwara Cafe in Whitefield, Bengaluru, last year. This latest incident marks the fourth bomb threat in approximately the last one and a half months.

Previous incidents include a hoax bomb threat received on April 27 for a Bengaluru-Varanasi Indigo flight. Two days later, on April 29, Acharya College in Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru, received a bomb threat, along with a death threat to its principal. Now, schools in Hassan and Bengaluru have become the latest targets of these threats.
