Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Tushar Giri Nath, conducted a field inspection on Sampige Road in Malleswaram to review the condition of footpaths and assess ongoing civic works. The visit aimed to ensure pedestrian safety and address long-standing public complaints regarding damaged and encroached walkways.

Accompanied by West Zone Zonal Commissioner Suralkar Vikas Kishore, Joint Commissioner Sangappa, Executive Engineers, and other senior officials, the Chief Commissioner directed the team to expedite repairs and improve accessibility. He emphasized the need for a uniform footpath design, proper drainage alignment, and strict action against encroachments to ensure hassle-free movement for pedestrians.

As part of his visit, the Commissioner also inspected the Namma Clinic located in Kaadu Malleswara under the Malleswaram Division. The Namma Clinics, an initiative to provide primary healthcare access in urban neighborhoods, are being monitored regularly to ensure proper functioning, availability of staff, and essential medicines.

During the inspection, officials were instructed to maintain hygiene standards at the clinic, streamline patient services, and address infrastructure issues, if any. The Chief Commissioner interacted with healthcare workers and local residents to understand their concerns and assured them of quick resolutions. The BBMP’s renewed focus on urban infrastructure and healthcare is part of a broader effort to improve quality of life across Bengaluru’s wards. The civic body continues to encourage citizen participation and timely reporting of civic grievances.
