The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a three-month deadline to complete the long-pending Hosakerehalli Junction flyover. BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath Maheshwar Rao, during his inspection of infrastructure works in Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone on Saturday, directed officials to fast-track the project, which is 75% complete, with special focus on completing the down ramp section.

To avoid further delays, officials have been instructed to expedite land acquisition and coordinate with traffic police. A proposal for widening the service road has also been submitted, and Rao emphasized swift approvals to complement the flyover work.

The inspection extended to multiple key locations. At Nayandahalli Junction, Rao ordered the immediate removal of footpath encroachments and unauthorized vehicle parking beneath flyovers, which have been contributing to traffic snarls. In Vrushabhavathi Valley, the Commissioner reviewed proposals for constructing an additional vented bridge and directed authorities to begin work once funds are released. He also stressed the importance of desilting stormwater and side drains ahead of the monsoon to avoid flooding.

Rao also examined pending works near Metro stations and major roads. At Deepanjali Nagar Metro junction, he instructed teams to expedite road development to ease congestion. The stalled Gopalan Arch flyover on Mysuru Road, held up due to land acquisition issues involving 33 properties, must be resolved immediately, he said.

A major sewage leak in Vrushabhavathi Valley also drew the Commissioner’s attention, prompting a directive to BWSSB to address the issue on priority to prevent environmental damage.
