Basava Jayanti celebration in Chikkaballapur on April 30

The District Administration, District Panchayat, and the Kannada and Culture Department are jointly organizing a grand celebration for the birth anniversary of the cultural leader and world teacher, Basavanna, on April 30, 2025. The event will be held at the Basavanagudi premises on Basavanagudi Road, starting at 10:30 AM.

The inauguration of the event will be led by Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, the Minister for Higher Education and District In-charge Minister. The session will be presided over by P.E. Pradeep Ishwar, the MLA of Chikkaballapur. Shivraj S. Tangadgi, the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Kannada and Culture, will be the Chief Guest. Dr. K. Sudhakar, MP from Chikkaballapur, M. Mallesh Babu, MP from Kolar, and several other prominent legislators and officials will be attending as special guests, including S.N. Subbareddy, B.N. Ravikumar, K.H. Puttaswamigouda, and others.

Government officials, including the Secretary for the Kannada and Culture Department, Dr. M.V. Venkatesh, and the District Development Officer, Dr. N. Manjula, will also participate in the event. Notable dignitaries such as B. Girish, President of the Veerashaiva Seva Samaj, and Mahesh Bassapur, District President of the Akhila Bharatiya Veerashaiva Mahasabha, will also attend. The event will include a lecture by E.N. Chandrashekhar, a renowned speaker and reporter for All India Radio and Doordarshan Chandana.

Members from various Veerashaiva organizations, elected representatives, government employees, and citizens are expected to participate in the celebration.
