6 thousand Covid-19 test in Bengaluru

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has said that the rate of Covid testing has been increased to 6 thousand daily in the background of double Covid infection in the capital Bengaluru.
Speaking to reporters at the BBMP headquarters in the city, he said earlier that 1500 percent of the Covid infection tests were conducted in the city. However, as per the government guidelines, 6,000 Covid tests are being conducted per day, he said.
He said that if the number of Covid-positive cases does not increase, the number of tests will also be increased, for now our target is only 6 thousand. He requested to get tested without fail if there are symptoms of Covid-19. Commenting on the mandatory mask, he said, "We have not made it mandatory for people to wear masks outside, including New Year celebrations. However, we have created awareness to wear them.
