50 Status Assessment Of Underpasses: Tushar Girinath

BBMP Chief Commissioner said that an assessment of the conditions of almost all the underpasses in the city has been given. There are a total of 53 under bridges out of which 18 are railway under bridges. At present, the condition of 50 lower bridges is being checked. He told the reporters that the status report will come step by step in two to three days and if it is deemed unfit for vehicular traffic, the traffic will be stopped. Vehicular traffic has not been restricted in any underpass at present. He said that all the underpasses are being checked so that there is no negligence. An FIR has been registered regarding the accident at KR Circle and the police are investigating. Action will be taken against whoever is negligent. TusharGirinath said that the repair work has been started by the corporation. The Chief Minister has instructed that since the rainy season has started, the Raj canal should be dredged and the water flowed smoothly. He explained that the work of cleaning the Raj Canal is going on in 550 km. A total of more than 350 trees fell due to rain and storm for three days. He said the evacuation operation was almost completed on Wednesday. 23 houses were damaged in three days. 15 houses were flooded on Tuesday night. The water is removed. According to the rules, compensation can be given if the water stays in the house for three days. However, he informed that everyone is being compensated without doing that.
