10-Day survey of SC families in BBMP begins May
A comprehensive 10-day survey of Scheduled Caste (SC) families will be conducted within the BBMP limits from May 5 to 17.
The aim of the survey is to collect economic and social data from SC households across Bengaluru to ensure accurate information for formulating a fair reservation system. During a meeting on Thursday, officials emphasized that no Scheduled Caste family should be overlooked during the survey. Government school teachers have been appointed alongside BBMP staff to carry out the task. The survey will involve visiting each household in the city to gather relevant data, which will later be reviewed by top officials in a random manner to ensure its accuracy.
Once the survey is complete, all collected data will be made available on the BBMP app. Residents will be able to check if their details are accurate, and any discrepancies can be corrected immediately through the app. The survey’s main objective is to obtain precise information about various sub-groups within the Scheduled Castes, which will aid in the formulation of a just and equitable reservation system. Officials are confident that the data collected will assist in making informed decisions for better representation and welfare of Scheduled Caste communities in the city.
The survey is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring that the benefits of various welfare schemes and reservation policies reach the intended beneficiaries. By collecting detailed data on each family’s economic and social status, the authorities aim to enhance transparency and fairness in the distribution of resources and opportunities.
