UP’s economy, income doubled: CM Yogi
Lucknow
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that Uttar Pradesh has become India’s growth engine, with its economy and per capita income more than doubling under his government. He made these remarks at the FICCI National Executive Committee Meeting in Lucknow.
Yogi claimed that Uttar Pradesh is now the country’s second-largest economy, a major shift from its earlier image. “Uttar Pradesh is no longer a struggling state,” he said, crediting the change to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and improved state policies.
He criticized past governments for damaging the economy and lowering per capita income below the national average. In contrast, he said his administration has stopped financial leakages, embraced technology, and built public trust.
The chief minister highlighted investor-friendly policies, simpler rules, and a safer environment for businesses. He noted that the state is now revenue surplus and can pay its employees on time—unlike in the past.
Yogi also emphasized major developments in infrastructure. Uttar Pradesh now has India’s longest expressway, the most extensive rail network, and the country’s first rapid metro. He added that Jewar Airport is expected to be operational in 2025.
“Uttar Pradesh is growing in all fields,” he said. According to Yogi, this growth proves the state’s critical role in achieving the national goal of a developed India by 2047.
