Lucknow
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the sharp growth in cooperative bank loan disbursals in Uttar Pradesh, calling it a “remarkable achievement.” Over the past eight years, loans from cooperative banks have risen to more than ₹23,000 crore. He said this reflects the important role cooperatives play in helping farmers and creating a strong rural economy.
At a review meeting of the Cooperation Department, Adityanath asked officials to roll out the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. This scheme aims to raise incomes and support small and marginal farmers. He directed that NABARD and cooperative banks should actively join the scheme and that it must be carried out effectively and on time.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of easy credit for farmers and modernizing cooperative banks. A project plan must be prepared quickly, he added. He also said cooperative work must stay focused on transparency, efficiency, and better farmer incomes.
From 2017 to 2025, cooperative bank loan disbursals jumped from ₹9,190 crore to ₹23,061 crore. Net profits reached ₹100.24 crore. Business from district cooperative banks rose from ₹28,349 crore to ₹41,234 crore, with profits of ₹162 crore.
Crop loans worth ₹11,516 crore and long-term loans of ₹393 crore were given. Fertilizer distribution reached 34.45 lakh metric tonnes. Procurement included 25.53 lakh tonnes of paddy and 1.94 lakh tonnes of pulses and oilseeds.
Since 2017, 1,435 warehouses have been built under various schemes. For 2025–26, 100 more are planned. Adityanath also called for private participation in storage expansion, reforms in the Pradeshik Cooperative Federation, faster hiring through IBPS, and stronger cyber security via NABARD’s Core Banking Solution.
