India and the UK have signed a major Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that is expected to give a strong push to technology, especially in artificial intelligence (AI) and skill development. Industry leaders said this deal will help both nations grow together by sharing knowledge, creating jobs, and boosting the tech sector.

India currently has the highest AI skill rate in the world. The FTA will help the UK recognize India as a top place for students and skilled workers. Experts believe the deal will drive more trade in goods, services, and especially technology.

Keshav Murugesh, Chairperson of CII UK India Business Forum, said the agreement will open new economic opportunities and encourage innovation. He said it will also help reduce economic risks by making both countries stronger during global trade challenges.

The agreement is also expected to help students and technology workers by supporting deep technology and skills exchange between the two countries. Murugesh said this partnership will make both nations stronger in the global AI field.

Ashok Chandak, President of IESA and SEMI India, added that the FTA will help improve India's global business image. It will also benefit the services sector, especially in design, software testing, and embedded technology.

He added that lower taxes on parts, raw materials, and machines will cut production costs and help Indian products reach more countries. The deal also supports sharing skilled workers, building stronger supply chains, and working together on green electronics.

Overall, the FTA is expected to create many jobs and deepen cooperation in key sectors across India and the UK.
