India’s electronics products are now being recognised globally for their quality and respect for intellectual property rights, said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday. He was speaking at the inauguration of VVDN Technologies’ new SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Line in Manesar.

Vaishnaw, who is the Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, highlighted how India’s electronics sector has grown rapidly over the past ten years. He said manufacturing in this sector has increased five times, reaching ₹11 lakh crore. Exports have also risen six times, crossing ₹3.25 lakh crore.

The growth has created around 25 lakh jobs, showing the impact of supportive government policies and incentives. Vaishnaw stated that Indian electronics products are now trusted across the world for their reliability and protection of intellectual property.

He noted that India's strength in designing high-end products is adding to its reputation as a leading electronics hub. Indian engineers are creating complex products such as AI-powered cameras, car electronics, telecom equipment, and power systems.

The minister also pointed out that a new incentive scheme for electronic components, recently approved by the Cabinet, will further strengthen the industry. This move is expected to deepen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and create even more job opportunities.

Vaishnaw’s remarks came during the launch event, which underlined the importance of private sector participation in building a strong electronics manufacturing base in India. The government remains focused on supporting this growth through policies that promote innovation and global competitiveness.
