The government is fully focused on building a safe and smart energy future for India. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, shared this message on ‘Electrical Safety Day’ on Saturday.
Naik said the government is pushing for rooftop solar systems, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, battery storage, and digital fault detection. While these steps help create a cleaner and smarter energy system, he stressed that safety must always come first.
“Electricity powers every part of modern life, but it must be used carefully,” Naik said. He urged everyone — citizens, workers, and companies — to stay alert and responsible. His call was simple: let’s build a Smart India and a Safe India together.
At an event organized by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and BSES, Naik emphasized the need for strong safety rules as India moves quickly towards green and smart energy.
Over 300 people attended the event, including government officials, industry leaders, engineers, resident groups, and energy users. Many others joined online.
Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, said safety should be a core value, not just a checklist. As India adopts smarter energy systems, being careful and responsible is more important than ever.
Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson of CEA, said safety is not just a rule but a mindset. As energy systems become more digital and spread out, people must keep safety at the center of all activities.
This year’s ‘Electrical Safety Day’ showed strong teamwork between the government, power companies, and the public, building the base for a “Smart Energy, Safe Nation” in the future.
