Gautam Adani’s FY25 pay trails peers
New Delhi
Gautam Adani, India’s second-richest individual, earned a total remuneration of ₹10.41 crore in FY25—an increase from ₹9.26 crore in the previous fiscal, yet notably lower than most top executives in India’s corporate world, including several in his own conglomerate.
Adani, 62, drew salaries from only two of the nine listed companies under the Adani Group. From flagship firm Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), he earned ₹2.54 crore, comprising ₹2.26 crore in salary and ₹28 lakh in perks and allowances. Additionally, he received ₹7.87 crore from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), including ₹1.8 crore in salary and ₹6.07 crore as commission.
Despite his wealth—estimated at $82.5 billion—Adani’s salary remains modest compared to peers like Sunil Bharti Mittal (₹32.27 crore), Rajiv Bajaj (₹53.75 crore), and Infosys CEO Salil Parekh (₹80.62 crore). Mukesh Ambani, who once capped his salary at ₹15 crore, has voluntarily forgone his pay since the pandemic.
Interestingly, some Adani Group executives earned far more. AEL CEO Vinay Prakash received ₹69.34 crore, while AGEL MD Vneet S Jaain drew ₹11.23 crore. CFO Jugeshinder Singh earned ₹10.4 crore. Adani’s son, Karan, received ₹7.09 crore, while APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta earned ₹10.34 crore.
Other family members also earned significantly: brother Rajesh (₹9.87 crore), and nephews Pranav and Sagar (over ₹7 crore each). While Adani’s remuneration is low for a billionaire, he also benefits from dividend income, which isn’t included in the salary figures. He continues to trail Ambani in the race for Asia’s richest individual, currently ranked 20th globally.
