Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch the "NITI NCAER States Economic Forum" portal on Tuesday. Developed by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), this portal will serve as a centralized hub for social, economic, and fiscal data covering over 30 years (1990-91 to 2022-23).

Key Features of the Portal

The portal consists of four main components:

·         State Reports: Provides an overview of the economic and fiscal landscape of 28 Indian states, covering demographics, economic structure, and financial indicators.

·         Data Repository: Offers direct access to categorized data on demography, economy, fiscal status, health, and education.

·         State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard: Displays graphical representations of key financial and economic trends, along with data summaries.

·         Research and Commentary: Features in-depth studies and expert opinions on state finances, policy matters, and economic planning.

Enhancing Accessibility and Decision-Making

This platform aims to simplify access to crucial socio-economic and financial data, making it easier for policymakers, researchers, and analysts to analyze trends. The portal will also enable comparisons between states and national statistics, promoting informed discussions and better policy decisions.

Supporting Evidence-Based Policy Development

With a user-friendly interface, the portal will provide real-time analytics and historical data to track economic progress. By identifying emerging patterns and key financial shifts, it will assist in strategic planning and development efforts across the country.
